Celebrating Summer 2024

As we reflect on the José Valdés Math Program from Summer 2024, we celebrate a remarkable journey that left a lasting impact on our students. For six weeks, students embraced the challenge of mathematics, pushing their boundaries and deepening their understanding of the subject in ways that will resonate throughout their academic careers

This year, we had the privilege of witnessing the dedication and hard work of our students. From engaging lessons to outdoor activities that brought math to life, each moment was filled with laughter, learning, and a sense of community. Whether they were calculating puddle diameters, or engaging in "leaf and stick" math to learn angles and fractions,m, our students found joy in math beyond the classroom walls.

We owe a tremendous thank you to our incredible staff, teachers, and program assistants who made this summer possible. Their unwavering support and enthusiasm not only fostered a love for learning but also created a nurturing environment where students felt empowered to take risks and ask questions. Your commitment to education and the growth of these young minds has truly made a difference.

The culmination of our program was marked by inspiring graduation ceremonies held at Stanford University and San Jose State University, where students’ families joined in the celebration. These events honored the students’ achievements, showcasing not only their mastery of mathematical concepts but also their resilience and determination.

As we look back on this summer, we are filled with gratitude for the experiences shared and the connections made. We are proud of each student for their hard work and growth, and we are excited to see where their newfound passion for math will take them next.
