Meet Elizabeth Vasquez, a proud José Valdés Math Program alum and current board member! Her journey is a testament to the impact of investing in students' potential, especially in subjects where they may struggle. Currently, Elizabeth is a Growth Marketing Manager at Meta and has worked for other companies in the Silicon Valley such as Google and LinkedIn.

"I attended the José Valdés Math Program for a couple of summers when I was younger. Looking back, I am grateful to my parents for forcing me to attend summer school. I wasn't the best at math, and it was a subject I often struggled with growing up. Before I even graduated from high school, I had already completed Calculus!"

For Elizabeth, Valdés Math™ was more than just an academic program—it was a confidence booster. As one of the few Latina students to complete advanced math before graduation, she found not only success in the classroom but also a newfound belief in herself: "Being part of Valdés Math allowed me to grow my confidence in all of my classes, not just math. It allowed me to trust that I am capable of solving problems—mathematical or not—regardless of how difficult they may be. I am forever grateful for Valdés Math!"

Now, as a board member, Elizabeth is giving back to the program that shaped her path, helping the next generation of students access the same life-changing opportunities.
