James works in the Undergraduate Office of Admission at Stanford University. Prior to his current position with Stanford, he was a teacher and assistant principal in East Palo Alto.

James deeply values free access to rigorous and culturally relevant instruction. This propelled him to complete the Latino Leadership Board Academy through the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley and join the Valdés Math board.
